The Super Falcons on Thursday defeated Australia 3-2 at the Brisbane Stadium in a group game at the ongoing Women’s World Cup.
The Nigerian female team’s victory was their first win in the competition and the fifth win in the history of the Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons had played a goaless draw in the group opener with Canada.
With the win, the nine-time African champions have a brighter chance of reaching the round of 16 in the competition.
