Olanrewaju Smart Wasiu, the Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has denied the report that his principal has been appointed as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
NewsEdge reports that some online platform had reported that Hon. Gbajabiamila was appointed as CoS to the President. However, Smart Wasiu who was quoted to have confirmed the news denied ever releasing such.
Wasiu said via his Facebook page, “Fake news is a monster that must be curbed. Kindly ignore any fake news quoting this account for posting about any political appointment. Nothing of such was ever posted here”.

However, Nigeria’s current speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has been in the news lately as a preferred choice of Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. This has further been fuelled by his delay in picking up his certificate of return from INEC.
Gbajabiamila, who secured a 6th term as the member representing Surulere Federal Constituency in Lagos State, has been seen around the President since after the election.
